The fictional Olita River flows through Olita Canyon. The canyon is the device I used to let the tracks disappear into the helix. Olita is a Spanish word for "wavelet," which makes sense for a river with lots of little waves and rapids. It is really named for my mother, Oleta, which is pronounced like the Spanish word olita.
