Here is the original jack post with the wood and plate steel cap removed. It took quite a bit of back and forth adjusting to keep the needle near the zero point, but it worked. The same adjusting action was required when the original post was returned to duty. It worked and I didn't crack the tile floor above or generate any cracks in the sheetrock. My wife is very happy about that.
