This closer view shows the dial indicator zeroed out. Having had a dial indicator knocked loose with just the magnetic base on a pole, I wired it to the pole to prevent it from falling if dislodged. The top plate of the temporary jack post was held in place with bolts and washers that straddled the I-beam.
